The Scarecrow Trail
The Scarecrow Trail is the heart of our event, and always will be...after all, it is Kington Langley Scarecrow Festival!
All our scarecrows are built by families and individuals from the village and surrounding area (although we did have one brought in from Cardiff one year, so if you fancy making one and you don't live in our village, fret not!).
We encourage a wide diversity of subjects and styles, but work hard not to have any duplicate titles (imagine how we struggle when setting the themes - we try to think of 80 different subjects to see if it's feasible or not...but we don't tell people what to build)
All of our builders are outstanding, and the competition for "People's Choice" is fierce! We've had big Scarecrows , small Scarecrows, multiple Scarecrows, special effects and the weird & wacky!

We've planned the trail to be as accessible as possible around Kington Langley village, centered around "Middle Common".
It's about 1.5mls all the way around and flat. As we don't have pavements on most of the lanes, we restrict parking in the main area and try to "calm" what little traffic we have on the smaller lanes. Your safety is our prime concern - we cone off the main through road to ensure maximum visibility for both drivers and pedestrians.
But please be careful when crossing roads or near our pond, we will have St.John's Ambulance on hand, but we'd rather they had nothing to do.

This video was posted on youTube by one of our visitors, after a rainy year's festival, it gives you a great idea of the trail, and some really nice comments too - thanks to SarranaK22 for posting!
