Kington Langley Scarecrow Festival - 14th & 15th June 2025
Kington Langley's Weather-Worn Wonders
Get ready to be amazed by the extraordinary transformation of Kington Langley as it becomes a whimsical wonderland of weather-inspired scarecrows! Join us for our annual Scarecrow Festival, where the village streets come alive with creative displays that celebrate the ever-changing moods of the sky. From sun-kissed smiles to windswept wonders, our scarecrows capture the essence of every season, from the gentle spring showers to the blustering winter winds. |
Our purpose
Our festival was started back in 2000 by Elizabeth Coles as a small village event. It proved so popular it became a yearly event and by 2010 we set ourselves 3 goals:
Doorway, The Rainbow Trust, National Deaf Children's society, Doorway, Jemima's Gift, The Air Training Corps, The Scouts, our School, Church and Chapel, the Kington Langley Games club, Women's Institute, Croquet club and Tennis club...plus many more
- to be a family friendly day out that doesn't cost the earth
- to be a focal event for our community to be proud of
- to raise funds for charities and local projects.

Do ya wanna build a scarecrow?

If you live locally then why not let the wild whims of weather inspire your scarecrow creation at our festival! Imagine a scarecrow battling a blustery gale, adorned with wind-tossed ribbons and tattered sails. Or perhaps one dressed in shimmering rain gear, ready to weather any storm. Maybe even a sun-kissed scarecrow sporting sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat, basking in the golden glow. Whether you envision a frosty frost-covered figure or a lightning-struck marvel, embrace the unpredictable nature of the elements and bring your weather-themed scarecrow to life.
You'll need to register your title so we don't have repeats, and then we'll contact you with a location where your Scarecrow will have to be in place by 10am on Saturday and Sunday. You'll even get a free tea and cake on us!

The Elizabeth Coles Award
To honour our founder, each year we give a larger donation to a designated charity, for 2024 this was the Doorway based in Chippenham, providing services for the homeless and isolated in our community.
We will be announcing the 2025 award shortly.
