Kington Langley Scarecrow Festival - Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st June 2026

Kington Langley's Deep-Sea Delights

Get ready to dive into the extraordinary transformation of our village as it becomes a whimsical, wave-tossed wonderland!
Join us for our annual festival, where the village streets come alive with imaginative creations that celebrate this year's theme:  The Sea!

This year, we're casting off on a grand adventure, turning gardens and doorsteps into a vibrant ocean display.
From legendary Krakens and majestic merfolk to sun-drenched sailors and the weirdest wonders of the deep abyss, our displays will capture the essence of every nautical tale. Not to mention all the cryptic titles we are expecting too (Sea Biscuit comes to mind).

Every creative participant helps us celebrate the power of imagination and the mysteries of the deep blue.

Dive In and Get Involved!
We encourage everyone to embrace the theme of The Sea and bring your maritime masterpiece to life! Whether you envision a lost treasure chest, a lighthouse keeper standing against the storm, or a humorous crusty old sea dog, we want your creation to be part of the trail. You don't have to live in the village, but you must be able to put your display in place by 10am for both days.
Register your title now with the button below to make sure you catch the one you want.

How to find us:

Our purpose

Our festival was started back in 2000 by Elizabeth Coles as a small village event. It proved so popular it became a yearly event and by 2010 we set ourselves 3 goals:
  1. to be a family friendly day out that doesn't cost the earth
  2. to be a focal event for our community to be proud of
  3. to raise funds for charities and local projects.
To date we have raised over £120,000 for charities and projects including:
Doorway, The Rainbow Trust,  National Deaf Children's society, Doorway, Jemima's Gift, The Air Training Corps, The Scouts, our School, Church and Chapel,  the Kington Langley Games club, Women's Institute, Croquet club and Tennis club...plus many more

The Elizabeth Coles Award

To honour our founder, each year we give a larger donation to a designated charity, for 2025 this was a local charity with links to our village called "Fatboys" and we were pleased to donate £3,000.  We are currently reviewing options for the charity for 2026.
