Our Story: A Village TraditionThe Kington Langley Scarecrow Festival began as a small village gathering and has blossomed into one of North Wiltshire’s most anticipated summer events. Every year, our lanes are lined with creative, humourous, and sometimes engineering-defying scarecrows built by residents, schools, and local businesses.
While the festival is about laughter and trail-following, its heartbeat is charitable giving. Named in honour of a dear friend and founder of the festival, the Elizabeth Coles Award serves as our flagship grant, ensuring that while we have fun locally, we support major causes—like the RNLI for our 2026 ‘Sea’ themed festival—on a much larger scale.
Meet the TeamThe KLSF is run entirely by a dedicated committee of volunteers and Trustees who live and work in the community. We meet regularly (with plenty of tea and biscuits!) to plan the trail, manage the logistics, and—most importantly—review how we can best distribute the funds raised by your visit.
Join UsWhether you are an artist building a scarecrow, a local business sponsoring a prize, or a visitor buying a program, you are part of the KLSF story. Together, we’ve raised thousands of pounds for the Kington Langley Primary School, the Village Hall, St Peter’s Church, and countless regional charities.
